We had a great time attending the Lake Havasu Pocket Cruiser Convention. Even a boating incident that got Alice Gale holed at the start of the first days race did not curb our enthusiasm for this event. The hole in Alice Gale was done accidentally on the start of the Long Distance Race. I was on starboard tack and a great looking Goat Island Skiff was on port tack. We failed to adequately communicate and our boats converged with the bow of the GIS punching a hole in my port side. It looks horrible but I have already started the repair, and will have no problem getting Alice Gale back to normal.
I was mad for 15 minutes, but got over it as the sailing was just fantastic.
We couldn’t stay for the entire week, so we only attended the first three days. Here are a few pictures we got of the event.

I have made good progress on the repair in just a few days. Alice Gale was hit between two bulkheads and below the gunwale so the 6mm Meranti ply boards took all the stress. Three boards where cracked in 3 places each. No other damage so the repair is going smoothly.
